Diana Ross may keep Micheal Jackson’s kids

Diana Ross will get to be the new guardian to Michael Jackson's kids if Katherine Jackson is unable to care for them or dies.

This was clearly stated in Michael Jackson's will that should Katherine be incapable of tending to his kids, that his longtime friend Diana Ross was to be named their legal guardian and take custody of the kids.

Although Prince Michael I, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’, are now in the custody of Katherine following Michael’s death in July 2009, the 67-year-old soul singer was named in his will as a guardian and will take responsibility for them if anything happens to his mother.

Sources say that Diana has made no moves whatsoever not to fulfil her role that Michael intended for her. Also it says that Michael didn’t trust anyone in his family besides, his mother, to raise the children. Michael loved Diana and chose her for a very specific reason.

Woman Arrested For Biting Man's Penis Off

Lucinda V. Kinder, 32, of Coralville, has been arrested for domestic abuse assault without intent causing injury after police responded to an incident at her home.

Coralville Police responded to the scene for a 911 hangup, where they found that Kinder and the male victim had been arguing. Kinder allegedly punched the victim, scratched his left shoulder, and then bit his penis, police reports said.

Reports indicate that Kinder and the alleged victim have been in an intimate relation for over a year and reside together.

Kinder was being held Thursday at the Johnson County Jail on a $2,500 cash bond.

US storm death toll rises

The worst storms to slam southern US states in years flattened buildings and overturned vehicles, with intense tornados and floods leaving a trail of destruction and 190 people dead.

In the deadliest series of storms in nearly four decades in the United States, 128 people were killed in Alabama, the worst-hit state.

In Mississippi, 32 were killed, while 10 people died in Georgia and 11 in Arkansas. Louisiana and Tennessee also reported deaths as the clusters of powerful tornadoes and storms tore a swathe of destruction from west to east.

U.S President, Barack Obama declared a state of emergency for Alabama and ordered federal aid for the stricken state.

The World's Tallest Female

19 year-old Malee Duangdee from eastern Thailand is the world’s tallest female. Towering head and shoulders above her parents, this giant teenager is a whopping 6ft 10 in and she could still be growing.

Medics found a brain tumour that was pressing on a nerve. This caused a hormone imbalance which meant she never stopped growing - and now she has to have an injection that costs £2,000 every three months to control her growth.

As a result of her tumour, Malee has lost her sight. She suffered a lot of bullying while in school, but seems to be more comfortable now after leaving school.

24 year-old kills 13 children in a school in Brazil and then kills himself

24-year-old Wellington de Oliveira shot dead 13 children at a Rio de Janeiro school and then himself

Wellington de Oliveira, 24, killed 13 children and injured 20 more in yesterday's attack on Tasso de Oliveira elementary school in the Realengo suburb of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

He roamed the halls of the school for children aged 10 to 15, lining his victims against a wall and shooting them in the head at point blank range as he shouted 'I'm going to kill you all!' He had told school officials who approached him that he was there to deliver a speech, and then opened fire on students with two pistols.

Two boys, one with a gunshot wound, fled the school and ran to two police officers on patrol two blocks away. The officers sprinted to the school and exchanged fire with the gunman. He was hit in the leg, fell down and realizing he was caught, shot himself in the head.

How sad… I wonder what possesses people to do things like this.

Crocodile sighted within residential estate in Ajah

Residents of Greenville Estate along Badore road in Ajah, Victoria Island, Lagos; have been sighting an errant crocodile roaming free in a lake within the Estate.

On Saturday, 5th February, 2011, at about 2:00pm in the afternoon, a resident sighted crocodile sun-tanning on a small piece of land at the middle of the lake and again called the attention of people around to the situation.

The residents are now appealing to the Nigerian Conservation Foundation to effect the rescue and transfer of the animal.

Obama Launches Re-election Bid for 2012

Incumbent President of the United States, Barack Obama has announced that he will run for a second term of office in 2012.

He announced his bid online and in an email to supporters, saying a second term would enable him to cement and expand the policies he has begun at the White House. This announcement will allow his campaign team to begin raising money in earnest for what his advisers hope will be a record-breaking haul of more than $ 1 billion.

According to sources in the U.S., the Playboy mogul is not putting a pre-nuptial agreement in place with new wife, Crystal Harris. He insists that he hasn't brought up legal papers because he 'actually cares' about the blonde. The 84-year-old mogul is apparently unconcerned by any suggestion that Harris, 24 , may be interested in his personal fortune.

Elections postponed till Monday

The general elections for the National Assembly has been postponed across all the states in the Federation until Monday 4th April.

I’m quite disappointed. Had high hopes for this elections.

I was among a team of journalists that went round with the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lagos, Kunle Ogunmola, and all was well in the morning, at least at the centers we visited. Though some were yet to start because they didn’t have their materials, it was quite peaceful.

Not until we heard the news that the elections had been postponed. The INEC Chairman and his Commissioners gave so much assurances that everything was ready…. so it was quite disappointing to hear that they didn’t have enough materials spread round all the polling centers to conduct the elections today.

After hearing the news, the Commissioner was no where to be found for comments. Guess we have to wait till Monday.

Pat Utomi quits Presidential race, endorses Shekarau

Pat Utomi, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party (SDMP) has withdrawn from the 2011 election. He said he would on Thursday in Abuja submit his withdrawal letter to the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Utomi also declared support for the presidential candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Kano State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau, whom he openly asked his friends and supporters to vote for in the presidential election.

Reality TV Show for Pornography!!!

A new X Factor-style TV show has been launched in South Africa to find two new porn stars. The winners of Porn Stars - one man and one woman - will land roles in adult magazine Hustler's end-of-year adult film and receive £450 each.

They will compete at sex exhibition Sexpo in August and October in Durban and Johannesburg, where they will do their best to gain public votes by performing different live sex acts on stage. The budding porn stars must be 18 or over and are required to present a certificate proving they are free of any sexually transmitted diseases.

Producer Donovan van Wyngaard said he hopes the competition will find the new faces of South African pornography.

Body of six-year old boy murdered ritual-style in UK identified as a Nigerian

The body of a dismembered child found in River Thames 10 years ago has been identified as that of a Nigerian. This is the little boy whose headless and limbless body was found floating in the River Thames in 2001.

The five-year-old’s identity has remained a mystery after he was smuggled into Britain and murdered in a voodoo-style ritual killing. Tests revealed that the child was poisoned with an extract from the carabar bean which would have left him paralysed but conscious when his throat was cut. He was identified as Ikpomwosa.

It’s also being reported that detectives will fly into Nigeria to investigate the boy’s murder.

Rest in Peace little one….no one can hurt you now…

Fire break out at Balmoral Hall during City People Awards

Fire just gutted the Balmoral Hall, venue of City People Awards just as the event was going on yesterday evening, bringing the event to a sudden halt. Several politicians and celebrities were at the venue when the fire started.

Yeka Onka wins first edition of Nigerian Idol

Yeka Onka has won the long running reality TV show, Nigeria Idols, winning the star prize of N7.4million.

At the final on Sunday, March 27, 2011, shown on national TV, she emerged winner in the first season of Nigeria’s biggest music talent show.

The TV reality show which has been the talk of the town since kicking off in November 2010, finally came to an end, yesterday.

In this article, Eldee exonerates himself from any associations with the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Presidential Campaign or any other presidential campaign. An initiative he and some musicians formed to encourage participation in the elections through a free concert has now been misrepresented to seem like he and other musicians are in support of GEJ. This was done by an edited TV commercial and a newspaper advert with his name and picture, among other artists, advertising the GEJ Presidential concert.  The concert is set to hold in Abuja  tomorrow, 25^th March and he has said he won’t be there.

Can’t wait to see those musicians who are GEJ loyalists….

Election Violence - totally unnecessary!!!

I really don’t understand. Why all this waste? We are complaining of poverty in our country, yet our people are damaging properties worth millions of naira. And they were all new cars!

Was at a forum yesterday where some speakers were educating students on the dangers of election violence. I think they really need that message in Uyo now because killing each other and destroying property has no good end.  

Indian Hemp is good for my baby - Pregnant woman

A pregnant woman, Funmilayo Adeboye, was caught smoking ‘igbo’ in public, but she claimed it was good for her baby.

She has been sent to Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos for smoking marijuana in public place at Igando area Lagos. She confessed to the police that she was taking the substance because it was good for her and the baby she was carrying in her womb.

Fumilayo revealed she was introduced into smoking the weeds by her husband, Kehinde some years back and since then she was not only smoking but also selling it with her husband. After making a confessional statement, her husband was invited but he refused to show up at the station.

Why not let the baby grow up and make a choice instead of saying it’s ‘good’ for him or her….

The heaviest 3-year old

At 132lbs, Lu Hao is already five times the size of a normal child his age.

The three-year-old toddler from China eats a staggering THREE bowls of rice when he sits down for a family meal.

When Lu Hao was born he weighed just 2.6kg however, from the time he was three months old he began to gain weight rapidly. Now, his mother is unable to carry him and he goes to kindergarten every day on his motorcycle because he hates walking.

To push Hao to do more sports, the family installed a basketball hoop in the yard and often take him to swim in a local river. But the exercise just makes him hungrier and results in him putting on more weight.

Chimamanda Adichie to host Youth-Centered Presidential Debate

Award-winning author, Chimamanda Adichie, would host the first ever youth-centered presidential debate showing live on Channels TV on Friday, March 25th at 7 pm.

The debate is being put together by What About Us?, a youth organization.

So far all of the top presidential aspirants, except President Goodluck Jonathan have accepted the invitation to the debate.

Chris Brown Has Violent Outburst After Rihanna Questions During Interview

Chris Brown had an outburst after questions about beating up his ex-girlfriend Rihanna was posed to him on Good Morning America TV Show interview yesterday. He performed on the show and was interviewed by Robin Roberts who began asking him questions about the infamous incident.

He tried all he could to redirect the questions and focus on himself but and his works, but the show host continued to ask about Brown’s legal issues stemming from the Rihanna incident.

After his interview, he stormed into his dressing room and screamed so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security. By the time security personnel rushed into the area, Brown had taken off his shirt and left the building.

On his Twitter page, he tweeted:

“I’m so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for their bulls**t.”

Jonathan’s Campaign Office Burnt Down in Uyo amidst clashes

Up to 18 party supporters have reportedly died today in Uyo and several vehicles belonging to the Akwa Ibom governor campaign were burnt as supporters of Akpan Udoedeghe, the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) clashed with those of Godswill Akpabio of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The trouble reportedly began when Mr. Udoedeghe’s campaign train was prevented from campaigning in Governor's Godswill Akpabio’s senatorial district and Akpabio's loyalists forced the ACN candidate’s campaign out of the area.

Both sides then retreated to Uyo, the state capital, and engaged in a bloody fight. Later on, the ACN supporters then stormed the campaign headquarters of Goodluck Jonathan and Sambo in the city and razed it down.  A pool of brand new cars bought by the governor was also incinerated by the angry protesters.

 All these killings are totally unnecessary…

90-year old grandmother weds 73-year old man

A 90-year old woman who has been in a relationship with a 73-year old man for seven years have finally tied the knot.  

Betty Erskine met Robin Tremayne in 2003 when the pair lived in the same retired accommodation block. The pair regularly chatted and later started seeing one another romantically, before Robin moved in and popped the question in 2009.
The couple married in front of friends and family at Exmouth Town Hall, Devon on Saturday. Betty and Robin will go on a honeymoon in this country later this year.

Anorexic found dead in river after doctors order her to put on weight

An anorexia victim who left a tragic suicide note to her family before going missing six weeks ago has been found dead in a river.

Alice Vulliamy, 24, left a note to her family saying: 'I can't battle any more - they've pushed me too far.’

The 5ft 3in childcare worker was being treated for the eating disorder by doctors after dropping dangerously below 6 stone. She vanished from her home near Brecon, Wales, six weeks ago after being allowed home by doctors - and told to eat more healthily. 

Her body was found in a river at the weekend after a huge search involving divers, mountain rescue teams and police.

Gaddafi’s son killed

After heavy bombardment of Gaddafi's complex, there are reports that his son Khamis Gaddafi has been killed in the strikes.

Khamis, 27, who runs the feared Khamis Brigade that has been prominent in its role of attacking rebel-held areas, is said to have died on Saturday night.

Khamis is alleged to have died of burns in hospital. The regime, however, denied the reports.

Police kill six people at Buhari rally in Jos

The Nigeria police, yesterday in Jos, killed six people at a campaign rally of Muhammad Buhari's Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the city.

They were killed when the police used live ammunition to disperse a crowd of Buhari supporters that were trying to get into the venue of the rally.

Kidnappers seize Jimoh Ibrahim’s mother

Jimoh Ibrahim’s mother has been kidnapped by gunmen who invaded his home in Ondo state on Sunday night.

His mother, Mrs. Omofemiwa Jimoh lives on the outskirts of Igbotako in the southern part of Ondo state. The gunmen reportedly broke in and seized her at about 8:30 p.m. She was taken to an unknown destination.

The family sources say they have not yet been contacted by the kidnappers.

I pray she is found soon....

The mother who had another woman’s baby by mistake

Carolyn  and Sean Savage, a couple who embarked on the fertility treatment they hoped would give them a longed-for fourth child were shocked when a phone call that was to devastate their lives came just after Carolyn’s morning sickness had started.

The head of the fertility clinic broke the news to Sean that Carolyn was pregnant — but not with their child. The mix-up had happened because the other mother’s maiden name, marked on the vials containing the maturing embryos, was similar to Savage.

The situation — so desperately unfair for both couples involved — could have resulted in lengthy courtroom battles to determine whose child Logan actually was.

However it didn’t because she gave up the baby just minutes after his birth. Logan’s genetic parents, Shannon and Paul Morell, took him home from hospital, and have cared for him ever since.

Na wa o... this technology sef... How can a woman carry a baby in her womb for nine months and you say it isn’t hers!! It must have been hard to let go.

Tiger Woods has a new girlfriend

Tiger Woods has reportedly jumped back into the dating pool and is seeing a 22-year-old student who looks just like his ex-wife Elin Nordegren.

But Alyse Lahti Johnston who is 13 years younger than the golfer also has a checkered past - she was arrested on suspicion of DUI last year.

The University student and budding golfer has been spending a lot of time with Woods in recent weeks.

Hmmm..

And i just heard he is now the number 5 golfer in the world. Very far from number 1.

My kids will all have British Citizenship – Oge Okoye

Oge Okoye recently returned from London where she had her second baby. Here are excerpts from a recent interview.

Why did you choose to have your baby in London?
I feel more at ease in London than any other country. Don’t forget that I was born there too. Besides, I want a better life for my kids.

Does it have something to do with the citizenship thing?
Of course yes. I am a British too. I just want a good life for them when they get older and also for them to be able to move around the world freely without hiccups. I believe they will have a better life with their British citizenship.

Are you saying you don’t believe or have faith in Nigeria?

I just know that the step I took for my kids on their nationality is the best for them. I know what I am doing honestly. Nigeria is a good country and there is hope of it becoming better but I have my reasons. My kids will all have British citizenship.

Wyclef Jean shot in Haiti

Musician Wyclef Jean said on Sunday that a bullet grazed his hand as he stepped out of a car to make a telephone call, but said he was only slightly injured. He was in Haiti helping the presidential campaign of his friend and fellow musician Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly.

He said the bullet grazed him late Saturday night as he stepped out of his car in the Delmas section of the capital, Port-au-Prince, to make a call on his cellphone. He got out of the car to have a private conversation. He heard the shots and looked down to see blood on his shirt and sneakers.

He has been treated at a hospital and has been released.

No cause for alarm…
